The motion

That this House congratulates Healing for the Heart on the opening of its new health and wellbeing hub at the Heart of Scotstoun Community Centre in Glasgow West constituency; recognises the charity's work since its establishment in 2018 as a mental and emotional health and wellbeing organisation providing timely and affordable counselling and psychotherapy, building resilience through community development and training, and supporting individuals experiencing poor mental health, trauma, addiction and social isolation; welcomes the charity's commitment to ensuring that professional mental health support is accessible regardless of socio-economic circumstances, and to challenging the stigma surrounding mental health in communities and workplaces; notes that the new hub will host weekly wellbeing sessions incorporating employability support, resilience programmes for young women, self-care initiatives, creative and reflective activities and opportunities to strengthen community connections; further notes the charity's ongoing community engagement at the centre since November through consultations with local residents and activities including crafts, outdoor meditation, self-care awareness and aromatherapy; commends the dedication of its staff and volunteers in helping individuals build confidence, resilience and positive mental wellbeing; further welcomes the involvement of local performers, the Yoker Minstrels, and community organisations in celebrating the hub's launch; and wishes Healing for the Heart every success as it continues to expand its valuable work across the local area.
