Drumchapel Tennis Club

That this House congratulates Drumchapel Tennis Club, located in Drumchapel in Glasgow West constituency, on its outstanding contribution to community sport and wellbeing since its foundation in 1898; recognises the club’s strong reputation and commitment to making tennis affordable, accessible and available to people of all ages; commends the remarkable combined 185 years of voluntary service given by Eric Flack, Gordon Connor and Peter Watt, whose dedication, leadership and encouragement have inspired generations of players and volunteers; acknowledges the club’s work in partnership with Drumchapel Sport, the local Community Sport Hub, to widen participation in sport and strengthen community connections; further recognises its outreach with local primary schools, nurseries and community groups, including support for adults with learning disabilities, people experiencing mental health challenges and organisations such as Men Matter Scotland; celebrates the club’s welcoming, family-centred ethos and the positive role it plays in promoting health, inclusion and opportunity across the Drumchapel community; and wishes everyone involved at Drumchapel Tennis Club continued success for many years to come.
