Etone College Secondary School of the Year award

The motion

That this House congratulates Etone College in Nuneaton on being named Secondary School of the Year at The Education Awards 2026; recognises this prestigious accolade as a testament to the exceptional achievements of the school's leadership, staff and students; commends Etone College's commitment to delivering educational excellence whilst serving as a pillar of the local community; applauds its extensive work with food-bank partners, uniform support schemes and holiday provision programmes, which provide vital support to vulnerable families across Nuneaton; further recognises the considerable contribution of staff and students to volunteering, fundraising and community outreach initiatives; notes the strong partnerships established by the College with local organisations, community groups and public services; acknowledges the active involvement of Etone students in civic engagement through youth parliament activities, debates on community safety and engagement with Warwickshire Police and other agencies; pays tribute to the professionalism, discipline and respect demonstrated by the Combined Cadet Force, including during the College's annual Remembrance events; commends the work of student community champions in supporting charitable causes, including fundraising for the Mary Ann Evans Hospice; and celebrates Etone College as an outstanding example of a school that not only delivers excellence in education but also makes a transformative contribution to the wider community, setting a standard for schools across the United Kingdom.
