DEPORTATION 0F 419 ARABS FROM ISRAEL

That this House condemns the actions taken by the Israeli Government to deport 419 of its Arab citizens into the no-man's land area situated on its borders with Southern Lebanon; views such actions as being both cruel and inhumane, with those responsible for this policy being guilty of breaches of basic human rights; calls upon Her Majesty's Government to urge the Government of Israel to recognise that the sanctity of the individual should remain a core guarantee for all people living within the borders of any democratic state; and urges the Government of Israel to put back on schedule the objective of a Middle East peace settlement by seeing sense and restoring these displaced people back to their homes and families in Israel.
