The motion
Leave out from 'expresses' to end and add, 'concern at the tabling of early day motions based on inaccurate information; notes that Rothmans (UK) did not send unsolicited promotional material to a 16-year-old boy but did so in response to a caller who gave the name and address of the boy and claimed that he was a smoker aged 18 or over; accepts that it is the practice of Rothmans (UK) to honour the terms of the Agreement on Advertising and Promotion it has reached with Her Majesty's Government under which it does not promote products to non-smokers or anyone under the age of 18; and calls on any Honourable Members who have wrongly criticised Rothmans to take early and appropriate action to remedy their mistake.'.
