PAY RESTRAINT

Tabled by Richard Alexander (Conservative) 2 signatures

The motion

That this House notes the need for restraint in public sector pay in the coming year; draws attention to some private sector pay awards, particularly the swingeing increases captains of industry, often those in formerly nationalised industries, have awarded themselves whilst they condemn the pay of honourable and Right honourable Members which is currently at a rate they would not pay their junior executives; and urges restraint on those involved who have often set such an appalling example in recent years.
