The motion
That this House welcomes the decision taken by all the major tampon manufacturers to put warnings about the possible risk of toxic syndrome on the outside of packets; notes the campaign for this was led by the Opposition with no support from the Government; further notes the contribution of parents whose daughters died from toxic shock syndrome, the Women's Environmental Network and the Co-op and Natracare who introduced these warnings; and believes the Government should now initiate research into the causes of tampon related toxic shock syndrome as the best way of maintaining public confidence ino the safety of tampons and protecting women's health.
