The motion
That this House has noted with utter astonishment the conduct of the present Chairman of Barclays Bank, Mr Andrew Buxton, together with Barclays officials, Mr Carslake, formerly the Division Director of the Central Advances Department, and his successor in this post, the last Mr Turle, and their deputy, Mr Sellers, in relation to the account at the Bank of Mr L. Jenkins of Hertfordshire; notes the manner in which it was decided that a guarantee provided by the late Ralph Carr was not to be enforced; recommends that Barclays reviews how it has scandalously mishandled the matter; and recommends that immediate steps be taken to ensure that Mr Jenkins is repaid all the monies now due to him.
