The motion
That this House welcomes Nurses Day on 12 May 1994, the birth date of Florence Nightingale, as a positive way to celebrate the work of nurses and to recognise the value of nursing; notes that the theme for Nurses Day 1994 is 'Healthy Families for Healthy Nations' in recognition of the crucial role which nurses play in supporting all members of the family; and recognises that the success of recent initiatives such as The Health of the Nation and Care in the Community will be dependent in large part of nurses working in the community.
