COUNCIL RENTS IN REDBRIDGE AND IN BARKING AND DAGENHAM

The motion

leave out from `House' to end and add `recognises the high level of service tenants receive from the London Borough of Redbridge in the management of their homes and in the repairs and maintenance service that the Council provides and congratulates the Borough on its ambitious programmes to maintain and upgrade its current housing stock, in particular, its plans to spend ú6,825 million on maintaining its stock and a further ú5.5 million on improving it; its ú13 million Estate Action programme at the Council's Orchard Estate which is improving 604 homes in partnership with the Department of the Environment; its recently completed programme to refurbish 477 Council-owned homes with potentially defective pre-cast concrete at a cost of ú11 million, and its further Estate Action programme at the Tiptree Estate which will invest ú12 million over 4 to 5 years in partnership with the DOE and the Housing Association sector.'.
