HEBRON MASSACRE

Tabled by Sir Cyril Townsend (Conservative) 110 signatures

The motion

That this House condemns without reservation the terrible massacre of Palestinian worshippers in Hebron in which some 50 people were killed and many more injured; believes the Israeli Government is totally responsible under the Geneva Convention for the protection of all those living in the Palestinian Occupied Territories; considers that Government has a duty to take firm action at once over armed Jewish settlers; calls on Her Majesty's Government to support moves in the UN Security Council designed to give greater international protection to the Palestinians in the Territories and to offer to fly some of the most seriously wounded to Britain for hospital treatment; and urges all the parties to press on with the peace process, since without it gathering momentum, there is a serious danger of further loss of innocent life.
