Mental Health Bill
Earl Howe moved amendment 33B, in clause 26, page 15, line 31, at end to insert: “(b) if the responsible clinician is not a medical practitioner, the responsible clinician has arranged for the patient to be examined by— (i) the registered medical practitioner who has been professionally concerned with the medical treatment of the patient; or (ii) if no such practitioner is available, a registered medical practitioner who is an approved clinician; and the medical practitioner has made a written recommendation in the prescribed form including a statement that in the opinion of the practitioner the relevant criteria set out in subsection (5) below are met; and”. The party breakdowns are our own analysis of the official voting records (recorded votes only; they do not describe the formal whip). How we work this out.
Peers attend divisions ad hoc, so there is no did-not-vote list. Tellers are counted in the Content and Not Content totals, unlike in the Commons.
Tellers: Lord Cope of Berkeley (Content), Baroness Barker (Content), Lord Davies of Oldham (Not Content), Lord Grocott (Not Content).
