Social Fund Maternity Grant Amendment Regulations 2011
Lord Touhig moved to resolve that this House regrets that Her Majesty’s Government have laid before Parliament the Social Fund Maternity Grant Amendment Regulations 2011 (SI 2011/100) at unnecessary speed and without providing more information on the impact on new mothers and children in low-income families; and notes with concern that the Regulations will remove funds from some of the poorest families during the crucial early months of a child’s life. The House divided:
The Not Contents have it
Majority 37
At a glance The Not Contents won by a margin of 37 votes. The Government's position was Not Content, and it won.

The party breakdowns are our own analysis of the official voting records (recorded votes only; they do not describe the formal whip). How we work this out.
Peers attend divisions ad hoc, so there is no did-not-vote list. Tellers are counted in the Content and Not Content totals, unlike in the Commons.
Tellers: Lord Bassam of Brighton (Content), Lord Tunnicliffe (Content), Baroness Anelay of St Johns (Not Content), Lord Shutt of Greetland (Not Content).
