Identity Cards
Baroness Hanham moved to resolve that this House regrets the Government’s decision to proceed with the draft Identity Cards Act 2006 (Information and Code of Practice on Penalties) Order 2009, the draft Identity Cards Act 2006 (Provision of Information without Consent) Regulations 2009, the draft Identity Cards Act 2006 (Fees) Regulations 2009, the draft Identity Cards Act 2006 (Prescribed Information) Regulations 2009 and the draft Identity Cards Act 2006 (Application and Issue of ID Card and Notification of Changes) Regulations 2009 before the case for continued investment in the identity cards project has been put to the British people at a general election. The party breakdowns are our own analysis of the official voting records (recorded votes only; they do not describe the formal whip). How we work this out.
Peers attend divisions ad hoc, so there is no did-not-vote list. Tellers are counted in the Content and Not Content totals, unlike in the Commons.
Tellers: Baroness Anelay of St Johns (Content), Lord Shutt of Greetland (Content), Lord Bassam of Brighton (Not Content), Lord Davies of Oldham (Not Content).
