Courts Bill [HL]

It was moved by the Lord Goodhart, as an amendment to the amendment to leave out Clause 5 and insert the new Clause (Functions of courts boards), in line 12, at end to insert: “(2A) If the Lord Chancellor rejects a recommendation made by a courts board about a final business plan under subsection (1) he shall give to the board written reasons for so doing.”; which being objected to, the question was put thereupon, and the House divided:
