Following a submission from the pharmaceutical company, the Scottish Medicines Consortium (SMC) is currently considering whether ataluren (Translarna) can be accepted for routine use within the NHS in Scotland. The independence of SMC decisions on individual drugs is well established.

The Scottish Government has no current plans to change the valuation and payment of non-domestic rates, but is keeping the rates framework under active review, building on our 20-point action plan to make improvements ahead of 2017 revaluation.
