To ask the Scottish Executive, whether the actual cap in the reduction of teaching grant to colleges is 9.9% when using the baseline figures in the actual grant award outlined in Scottish Funding Council Circular SFC/09/2011, Main grants to colleges and universities for academic year 2011-12.
Answer · Michael Russell: No. The maximum reduction in teaching grant that any college will face when compared with the baseline figures (which are those set out in Scottish Funding Council Circular SFC/35/2010) is 8.5%. Circular SFC/09/2011 included funds which were not baselined.
