Remuneration and related undertaking1

Until 4 June 2026, when I resigned, I was a Councillor for City of Edinburgh Council (of City Chambers, High Street, Edinburgh EH1 1YJ). I spent a variable amount of time in this full time role, dependent on council business. I received remuneration of between £25,001 and £30,000 per annum and use of a laptop, mobile phone and tablet. I also received a tax deductible bus pass which ended in June 2026. As part of my councillor role, until 21 May 2026, I was the Governance, Risk and Best Value Convener. In this role I convened committee every 6-8 weeks and undertook other business as required. I received remuneration of between £45,001 and £50,000 pro rata which included the basic councillor salary. The basic rate of the councillor salary was deducted from my MSP salary. (lodged 8 Jun 2026)
