To ask the Scottish Executive, further to the answer to question S3W-20418 by Jim Mather on 24 February 2009, whether it expects the additional £0.5 million of funding given to VisitScotland for Homecoming Scotland 2009 to generate additional tourism revenue and, if so, how much.

Answer · Jim Mather: The budget for Homecoming Scotland 2009 has been enhanced by an additional £0.5 million with the aim of achieving an 8:1 return on that investment.

Answer · Jim Mather: None to date. However, it would be inappropriate for Scottish Government to name unsuccessful applicants to the Scottish Investment Fund without prior agreement.

Answer · Jim Mather: All Aberdeen based third sector applicants to the Scottish Investment Fund, managed by Social Investment Scotland, are currently progressing through the investment assessment process.

Answer · Jim Mather: Since 1 September 2008 the Scottish Investment Fund, managed by Social Investment Scotland, has received three applications from third sector organisations based in Aberdeen.

Answer · Jim Mather: Since 1 September 2008 the Scottish Investment Fund, managed by Social Investment Scotland, has received 61 applications for funding from third sector organisations.

Answer · Jim Mather: Since 1 September 2008, two awards totalling £925,000 have been made to third sector organisations from the Scottish Investment Fund.
