Amend the Local Government Act 1972 for Metropolitan Borough Council Elections

What the petition asks
Currently voters in the UK can automatically change their national Government in a General Election. As it stands in the majority of inner-city areas, the electorate are unable to change the political party controlling the local council in any single election.
It is required that an alteration of the provisions of the Local Government Act 1972 be made relating to elections in metropolitan districts.
An alteration in the Local Government Act will allow YOU AS A VOTER to change the political party controlling YOUR council in a single election!
Being able to change YOUR local council in one election will not only reduce the costs of elections across the UK - but will be a true measure of democracy!
