What the petition asks

A Chronic life destroying illness is being treated with long term use of stimulants which original purpose is to keep fighter pilots alert on long missions and Antidepressants which these two drugs are an awful combination and can have some negative impacts on the brain. Why when there's xyrem?

Sodium Oxybate (xyrem) is a drug used in the US to treat Narcolepsy with Cataplexy, the one drug works on both parts of the illness with minimal side effects and a significant increase on quality of life but unfortunately a certain Pharmaceuticals company make this drug cost £33 a day to prescribe when it used to be £1 a day. So instead Narcolepsy sufferers in the UK are expected to take stimulants mixed with antidepressants to "treat" the Condition.
