What the petition asks
Recently NHS England announced annual investment decisions for certain specialised services. 3 Funding Policies within the arena of Prosthetic failed to be funded and therefore are not available to the civilian population when they are available to the Military and Former Military Personnel.
The last review of the civilian Prosthetic service took place almost 30 years ago via the McColl Review of 1986. In that time span of a generation, Technology have moved mountains in terms of technological interventions within the field of prosthetics yet the inequality of prosthetic prescriptions to different patient groups is growing even wider, Skill levels in the production of bespoke Sockets is diminishing with the corresponding reduction of training times for Prosthetist.
