What the petition asks
The Government has announced that the former Kent International Airport site in Manston, Kent is to be used as an alternative to Operation Stack.
The road infrastructure around the former airport is inadequate for the volume of lorries.
There is no link to the Port of Dover or Euro tunnel capable of dealing with this volume of freight.
The M2 which has less lane capacity than the M20 would be the only viable route in which would add to the problem rather than deal with it.
