What the petition asks
Ensure national service is mandatory for at least 18 months for British citizens who have turned 18 and are not enrolled into further education, apprenticeships or work commitments. Eligibility would be more for people claiming job seekers allowance between the age of 18 - 21.
The idea is simple. If you are aged 18 - 21 and are claiming job seekers allowance. You will be enrolled into National Service for at least 18 months. This will not be the case for people who are in further education or are on apprenticeships for work. I believe people will be forced to seek employment which will help to control unemployment levels, benefit the Army 2020 program and keep the core values a national standard for future generations.
