What the petition asks

There is currently no legislation regarding the conduct of residential estate agents and landlords bar the deposit scheme. Rights of renters are completely overlooked, contract terms and conditions are meaningless and landlords can manipulate contracts to their bent.

Having been a long term participant in the renting market, I have encountered several estate agents who have conducted themselves in a very ambiguous manner. The renter, i.e. Consumer, needs some protection against unprofessional practices and enforced contractual rights. Regulation has to happen.
