Closed 389 signatures

What the petition asks

The British Army issued wound stripes in WW1 and this was reintroduced in WW2 but since 1945 there has been no recognition for wounded soldiers. The American & Canadian Forces issue medals for wounded troops. The British Forces should issue a medal to all Soldiers Wounded or Killed by the enemy
With the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq over the wounded soldiers from the wars are feeling forgotten about. The introduction of a medal like this to give them recognition for their sacrifices and can be worn with their campaign medals on remembrance day.

The American Forces issue the Purple Heart Medal and the Canadian Forces issue the Sacrifice medal. Both for being wounded or killed by enemy action.
