Stop taxing menstrual hygiene products

What the petition asks
Having a period is not a luxury, and neither are pads, tampons, cups or any other menstrual hygiene products. For most, these are essential items which are necessary to maintain a normal life.
Menstrual hygiene products should not be taxed. They are a necessity, not a luxury. Items such as exotic meats, baked Alaska and marshmallow teacakes are not taxed. The fact that these are not taxed suggests that tampons are more of a luxury than biscuits. This should not be the case.
