What the petition asks
Parent and child parking spaces are frequently abused, leaving parents with young children struggling to safely and comfortably get their children in and out of cars.
A badge system should be introduced for pregnant women and parents or carers of children under 12.
A badge system should be introduced for pregnant women and parents or carers of children under 12.
The blue disabled badge system provides parking spaces close to a venue for those who need them. People who park in these spaces without a blue badge are penalised.
Pregnancy can also put a woman in a temporary state of disability due to size and movement restrictions.
A badge system could be implemented to enable clear and honest use of the spaces. They are allocated for the safety and comfort of parents and children and there should penalties for misuse.
