What the petition asks
we are a nation that emphasises freedom of expression and the right to be an individual yet there are thousands of students nation wide who are being denied education or isolated because of the colour of their hair or piercings in their body this has to stop!
the United Nations CRC does not specifically address dress code in schools but in articles 28 and 29 it clearly states A) that discipline I schools should respect the child's dignity I fail to see how persecuting someone based on appearance is dignifying, B) A young person's education should help their personality mind, body and talents be the best. It should also build their respect for other people and the world is the way to do this bullying those who dare to be different into submission?
