What the petition asks
We urge the British government to hold a referendum about assisted suicide as soon as possible.
The referendum question should be widely researched, make exceptionally strong provision for safeguards and be broadly in line with those other European countries where assisted suicide is already legalised.
The British people, not politicians, should have the right to vote on this important matter.
