Recognise Advanced Nurse Practitioners as playing a crucial role within the NHS

Closed 1,646 signatures

What the petition asks

Advanced Nurse Practitioners are highly skilled, experienced clinicians educated to Masters level. They have played a crucial part in addressing the GP shortages within the NHS, yet the Government appears to have overlooked this. We seek funding of further ANP posts nationally and role recognition.
The Advanced Nurse Practitioner role encompasses:-
● Making autonomous decisions for which they are accountable
● Treating patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems and making an assessment of their health care needs based on physical examination, diagnosis, prescribing and referring
● Ordering necessary clinical investigations
● Making differential diagnoses using decision-making and problem-solving skills
