If you care for someone who claims a disability benefit you may be entitled to Carer's Allowance. To claim Carer's Allowance you must: Be aged 16 or over; Spend at least 35 hours a week looking after the person in need of care; this is official government guidelines and for this you get £62 a week
many full time carers work 18 hrs a day 7 days a week 52 weeks a yr and they do this for £62 a week yet if they put the person into care it can cost upwards of £3500 a week for specialist staff do do what carers do daily there are a estimated 500,000 carers in the uk saving the government £245 million every week [not including those with pensions who aren't eligible ] carers haven't had a income increase since the financial crash several yrs ago yet at the same time our mps get 17%
