Keep London Borough of Sutton School Places for the Residents of the Borough.

Rejected 18 signatures

What the petition asks

I'm stage of applying for secondary schools for my 10 year old, due to start high school next September. In the London Borough of Sutton, many schools are over subscribed. Today at the eligibility test I heard people from Slough, East Grinstead and even abroad were there to sit to secure a place.
London Borugh of Sutton has 14 high schools, 5 are grammer schools & 1 taking 60 pupils on merit of eligibility test.
2 are also Church Schools.
Spaces should be made/allocated in Grammar schools for Children residing in the London Borough Of Sutton rather than non residents on academic basis
The independent (Garner 2013), shows people moved, brought 2nd homes, use relatives addresses, attend church to secure a school place, many tutored. There are enough hurdles for Sutton parents already.

Why it was rejected

It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.

This decision is one for the London Borough of Sutton. You can find out how to petition Sutton Council here:

If you would like Parliament to change the rules that apply to admissions across England, you could start a petition about that.
