What the petition asks
A lot of immigrants have settled in UK over a period of time. But recent amendment in immigration rules mean their parents who live abroad are not allowed to stay with them indefinitely. They should at least be allowed indefinite leave to remain if not British citizenship.
See the updated rules here. https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/449643/20150803_Immigration_Rules_-_Part_8.pdf
Parents over 50 years most of the times start to think of retirement and that's when they think of spending later years of their life with their children. But if children have settled in UK it becomes difficult to move for parents with them indifinately as per the new immigration law.
They should be allowed ILR without recourse to public fund.
