What the petition asks
I have worked in social care sector for about 16 years and over this time and I have witnessed Care Workers being expected to do more for the service user in less and less time. Care workers want to give the best care but it is becoming more task centred care rather than person centred care.
National Institute for Clinical Excellence (NICE) industry watchdog say "home care workers should spend at least 30 minutes with each client during home visits, focusing on what they can do during this time not what they can't do"
The government call for care to be person centred so the service user is central in the care but today due to time reductions for care workers the tasks are now central in the care.
Our elderly deserve dignity, respect and proper care not health care on the cheap
