Legalise the use of Balance Board Swegway Scooters in Public
Rejected

What the petition asks
On 11th October 2015 the Police @MPSspecials tweeted advising Segway scooters are illegal to use on public roads and footpaths, under section 72 of the Highway Act 1835
Under this 180 year old law technically you aren't allowed to use a Segway scooter in public places...the same law applies to other forms of transport such as roller blades, skateboards etc - the law needs updating!
How is this going to be enforced? With massive cuts to police forces nationwide do the police really have the resourced to stop and fine people using a Segway in a public place? An ancient law that needs modernising....Lets get David Cameron riding into Parliament on a Balance Board!
