What the petition asks
There is a huge national shortage of paramedics and I believe one of the main issues behind this is that many young people are put off attending a university course because of the £9000 course fees. I believe paramedics are just as essential as all the other funded professions and should be funded.
Currently anyone studying for a degree or diploma making them eligible to register as a nurse, midwife, operating department practitioner, dental hygienist, dental therapist, chiropodist, dietician, occupational therapist, orthoptist, physiotherapist, prosthetist, orthotist, radiographer, radiotherapist, audiologist, speech and language therapist, doctor or dentist is eligible to receive funding from the government as these are deemed essential. Are paramedics not essential to society?
