What the petition asks

The pre general election and leadership of Labour Party campaigns brought to light yet again the lies and play on words that go on in politics today. We cannot as people put up with this any longer. It has too much a big an impact on too many lives.

It is asking me to give plenty of references and background information for this petition but you the people will have plenty of those.
We cannot put up with the lies that go on in politics and just keep shrugging our shoulders because it's become the norm.
Politicians that gain positions of power by lies in particular shouldn't be allowed to continue in that position.

Why it was rejected

It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.

The conduct of general election campaigns, and party leadership elections, are the responsibility of political parties.

There are already certain laws against lies, such as slander or libel. The public make their own judgment on the truth or otherwise of MPs' positions when they case their vote in elections.
