What the petition asks
After the latest cyber attack on Talk Talk. Dido Harding quoted that they had no legal obligation to encrypt users data. So there could be millions of stolen customer details available to criminals to use right now.
It is possible that upto 4 millions customers have had data stolen including bank details and credit card details.
Consumers have the right to know that their personal data is being held securely. This can only be achieved by forcing companies to encrypt all customers personal information. This type of crime is becoming prevalent, and the government needs to act now.
