Take the BBC in hand over their biased reporting against Israel.

Rejected 16 signatures

What the petition asks

The BBC's sensationalist headlines concerning events in Israel leads readers to believe that not only were the attacks perpetrated against the Palestinians but that the terrorists themselves, who were shot and killed by Israeli Defence Forces were the victims.
Headlines such as ‘Palestinians die in Israeli Gaza raid’; Statements such as ‘More than 40 Palestinians have died in unrest in Israel and the Palestinian territories this month, many killed carrying out attacks on Israelis. Nine Israelis have been killed and dozens wounded in stabbings and some gun attacks.’ – are prime examples of ‘last-first reporting’ regularly employed by the BBC. There is no mention that there are so far 34 unprovoked terror attacks this month in Israel and that the Israelis are defending themselves against these attacks. The insinuations made by the BBC and other media is that Israel is to blame.

Why it was rejected

It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.

The BBC is an independent body governed by a Royal Charter. Under the terms of that Charter, the BBC is operationally and editorially independent of government and there is no provision for the government to intervene in the BBC’s day-to-day operations.
