What the petition asks
You're dyslexic. You got Ds in GCSE English and Maths. You've got to carry on with education so you go to college where you have to retake your GCSEs but you really struggle. College get extra money for you being there as you're dyslexic. But when you ask for support they don't have the resources...
When funding for learners with disabilities was "ring-fenced" (only allowed to be spent on supporting learners), students were getting the support they needed, quickly and efficiently. Now it's not protected, the support has diminished and the money has been spent elsewhere.
Money awarded to colleges to help give equal opportunities to learners with disabilities should be spent on learners with disabilities.
Please make this a protected budget again.
