What the petition asks

To stop buyers pulling out of a house sale just before exchange.
The person selling has to pay legal fees,cancellation of removals
and the time and money spent packing. Removal companies charge
for the cancellation of the move and other buyers are lost. The law should be in line with scotland

Ee sold out house through an estate agent in Maidenhead and it seems the buyer had this happen 4 times before. As we thought he was a cash buyer we agreed to rent a property, arrange removals and pay an insurance as we have a covenant on the drive we live in. This has cost us
a £1000.00 for removals and storage,legal fees, rent on the house.
This potential purchase took 4 months and he pulled out on day of exchange. It seems we are not alone it happens again and again
