What the petition asks
Since 2012 there has been a downward spiral in the human rights and the humanitarian situation of the ethnic Rohingya in Burma. Even before 2012, the situation of the Rohingya was unacceptable as they were facing daily persecution and having their basis human rights such as citizenship denied.
We urge our Government to :-
1.Support the establishment of an independent international investigation into violations of international law .
2.Take up the case of the Rohingya as matter of Urgency with the Burmese authorities and urgently request that all human rights abuses cease with immediate effect.
3.That any human rights abuses and crimes will be investigated in an open and transparent manner and any perpetrators are brought before a court of law.
