What the petition asks

Due to the uprise in terror threats/acts and the fact France has 278,000 armed police and was able to do nothing until many lifes were taken, compared to britan only having 6000, which makes us sitting ducks along with the unarmed police who will make it to the scene LONG befor armed police will..

We should be allowed a daily carry suitable to defend against an attacker, and if nessasary go through tests and a screening to decide who is fit to carry and what they are allowed to carry. As the first on any terror/crime scene is always an innocent member of the public not an armed gaurd/police officer! Arm more of our police in these terrible times and give us all the means to protect ourselves!

Why it was rejected

There was already a petition about this issue. Duplicates are rejected so signatures collect in one place.

Repeal the ban on ownership of handguns, and include personal protection.
