What the petition asks
Most governments within the UK are not true majorities.
The current system (First Past the Post) also encourages:
- tactical voting - which converges the choice of parties down to two.
- changing boundaries which enables parties in power to manipulate in order to keep power.
There are already Proportional representation systems within UK democracy; both the Scottish and European parliaments use (different) systems of Proportional Representation.
