What the petition asks
Stopping the practice of Gazumping. Once a buyer has had a bid on a property accepted. Regardless of how far through the process the buyer. The property should be removed from the market for a period. To allow the buyer time to go through the process.
A buyer can be left with no property and a large bill for arrangement of mortgage and solicitors bills. All due to the property being left on the market while the process of moving is taking place. Time should be allowed for the process of moving. Whether selling of current property, approval for a mortgage or the time required for searches and paperwork. Once an offer is accepted by the seller for a set period (1 month, 3 months) the property should be removed from the market.
