Cornwall needs an inpatient unit for children with mental health problems.

What the petition asks
Cornwall needs age appropriate care for young people with mental health problems. Young people are being sent out of county to assist with recovery.
Cornwall does not have the provision to deal with these issues. With no inpatient units, children are being isolated from family when in crisis.

One in ten 5-15 year olds have a diagnosable mental health condition. However, only 6% of the NHS budget on children and young people.
Although there are therapies that are affective they are not available to every child that needs them.
Children are being sent as far as Birmingham to receive inpatient treatment which is detrimental to their recovery as they are isolated from friends and family.
Children as young as 12 have been sent to adult wards and police cells when is crisis.
