What the petition asks
The members of House of Commons are voting to extend military action against Daesh, the terrorists formally known as ISIL, by authorising airstrikes within the sovereign territory of Syria. In situations like this, those making the decisions are far removed from the consequences of their actions.
This petition calls for those MPs that vote in favour of extending airstrikes into Syria to demonstrate commitment to their decision by inviting a family displaced by ongoing civil war in Syria to stay at their home for the duration of this air campaign.
Why it was rejected
It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.
This is a decision for individual MPs to make, not a decision for Parliament as a whole.
