What the petition asks
The RSDC is part of the John Townsend trust which runs vital education and care services for adults with learning difficulties. The Trust serves families from all over England. There is no other college offering the same service in the region.
In addition to its 250 year old college, the Trust also runs several residential care homes, a farm and three charity shops which have been closed as a consequence of the withdrawal of funding by the Local Authority. The loss of these services has cut deep, with devastating and life-changing consequences; affecting countless service users and their families,120 staff, and the wider community of Margate and Kent.
