What the petition asks
The Conservative election manifesto said that expensive council houses will be "sold off and replaced as they fall vacant". More detail below.
Sadly, this clear commitment to replace council houses sold is not in the Housing Bill.
Sadly, this clear commitment to replace council houses sold is not in the Housing Bill.
The Conservative Manifesto Press Release stated that expensive council houses "will be sold off and replaced in the same area with normal affordable housing as they fall vacant. After funding replacement housing on a one for one basis, the surplus proceeds will be used to fund the extension of the right to buy".
Sadly, this clear commitment to replace the council houses sold has even omitted from the Housing and Planning Bill.
